Storybook Character Pumpkins
Mrs. Scott's kindergarteners each painted a pumpkin to complete the Very Hungry Caterpillar on the top row. Ms. Audrey's preschoolers painted A Bad Case of Stripes in the middle of the second row. Fifth grade teachers completed the display. Mrs. Turk's class did Pinocchio. Mrs. Willoughby's class did Fiona. Mrs. Caldwell's class did Shrek and Ms. Miller's class did Puss in Boots. They were all amazing! No judging or voting was necessary because all of these participating classes received $10 worth of free books from the book fair! Thanks for your hard work!

Read Across America - Happy Birthday Dr.Seuss!
Today, CES celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday with lots of fun activities. Kindergarten ears listed to "Horton Hears a Who" and made elephant ear headbands. First graders read "The Sleep Book" and wore their pajamas and brought their favorite stuffed animals. Second graders wore silly socks and listened to "Silly Socks". Third graders turned "Wacky Wednesday" into wacky Friday with some interestingly wacky outfits. Fourth graders read "There's a Wocket in my Pocket" and donned the characters in their pockets! Fifth graders read "The Lorax" and sported yellow mustaches while learning about problems facing our world today. All in all, it was a fantastic day!

Greetings friends!!
I feel as though I should reintroduce myself, as I've been away for a while. I do not mean for so much time to pass between posts!! Things are hopping in the library. Currently 1st -5th graders are engaged in an AR contest. For each 100 they score, they can enter a drawing to win a week's worth of free ice cream. The lower grades are all about it!!! I have added lots of new titles this year - mostly non fiction, thanks Common Core! See ya real soon...relatively speaking!
